Capturing a Classic: The Endless Coastline of Point Reyes
Point Reyes is a place of raw, wild beauty, and there’s a reason why so many photographers are drawn to it. This photograph, a tribute to its endless coastline, is my take on a view that has captivated countless others.
Shot on my Nikon D610 with a 50mm lens, I aimed to capture the incredible detail of the landscape. The fast shutter speed of 1/1600 at F5.6 helped me freeze the motion of the waves and highlight the sharp lines of the cliffs and shoreline. What I love about this particular view is how it feels both expansive and intimate at the same time. The coastline stretches on, seemingly forever, hinting at a vast and untamed world beyond the frame.
While it’s a popular subject, every photographer brings their own eye to the scene. For me, this image is a reminder of the power of nature and the satisfaction of capturing a classic in a way that feels personal.
